Alongside Live Argyll & Active Schools; Helensburgh Rugby Club are pleased to announce that we will be launching our after schools program at Hermitage Academy in January 2024.

This program is aimed at promoting girls rugby in the local community alongside our Community Coach, Live Argyll Coaches and our Girls Coach.

The afterschool club is aimed at girls of all ages from S1 to S6 of any abilities.

The seasons are aimed at current, returning and new players in order to help them develop as a player, whilst making new friends in the community, learning a new sport and developing them as a person.

The sessions held at Hermitage Academy astro provide a safe environment where girls can feel safe, comfortable and encouraged to broaden their skills by taking part in a new sport which holds the values of the Scottish Rugby Union:

LEADERSHIP, ENGAGEMENT, ACHIEVEMENT, ENJOYMENT & RESPECT

The sessions are all non contact, which allows players to develop the basic skills of rugby. Once they and their team are confident in the basic skills this is when we would look to develop their skills further are carry out further rugby skills training and contact sessions at the Rugby Club on the grass facilities.
